Test Tube Trouble!

This collaborative writing project will give you a chance to write a class story together using a narrative writing prompt.

You and a writing partners will be assigned to 1 of four chapters to complete this story!

Guidelines for collaborative writing projects:

* Meet your deadline!

* All members of your group must participate in contributing to the writing project.

* Each person(s) in your group must have a responsibility:

        - Group facilitator (keep the group on task!)

        - editor (click edit page to begin; only one person at a time can edit a wiki page)

        - reader (read out loud any content that all must hear)

        - brainstormers (generate ideas)

        - conventions monitors (check for clarity, spelling, etc.)

Each time you participate in a collaborative writing project, you must have a different role!

How to begin:

1. Read the chapter(s) of the story so far.  Discuss with your group what might happen in the story that would engage your

audience to read more!  Should something happen to one of the characters in the story? Could you add a new character?

      Will the setting change?

2. Agree on a "cliff hanger" that will give the next group a great place to continue the story. (unless you have the last chapter!)

3. Each person in your group should create a story map of their ideas for your group's chapter; then as a group decide which idea your group will use and

revise and edit your chapter together before you publish your work!

Test Tube Trouble!
Our teacher, Mrs. Gary told us, "Please set up the test tubes at your desks. We will be mixing soda ash with monofluirocycnuric hydroenalene.  Be sure you measure it exactly as follows. . ."

I don't know if Mrs. Gary wrote up the amounts incorrectly or it we measured them out wrong, but there was a blinding flash and a huge cloud of purple smoke.  When it cleared, three children were missing.

"Hey, where's Jeremy, Barry, and Ryan?" shouted Marissa.

"Help!", cried a voice.  We're over here!"

We looked for a vioce and saw . . . a three headed child!  Jeremy ws the child but instead of hands there were heads, Barry and Ryan.

All the children said was, HELP!" once again and then they vanished.  Heather couldn't believe her eyes.  She rubbed them once or twice,

     And then . . .
