What is a Wiki, anyway?

 

A Wiki is a website or similar online resource which allows users to add and edit content collectively. It is an example of

Web 2.0, a term frequently referred to as the second generation of the Internet which provides tools that allows us to use the Internet to publish and share ideas.

 

An example of a popular WIKI is Wikipedia, a free content encyclopedia published collaborately among anyone interested and

knowledegable about a topic. Giving students the opportunity to work collaborately on projects will give them skills that will benefit them

now and in the future.

 

This Wiki is designed to give elementary teachers instructional ideas on how a Wiki might be created.  When you create your own Wiki, you will send a password to the users that you would like to contribute to your site.
